I was getting myself 'back into' painting again after many years of not having picked up a brush. It was a great start to aid in curing my depression and get my creative juices flowing again.
This piece had to come at a horrible time in the commissioner's life. She had just lost her mate in a very cruel manner. He came from a very tight-knit family. Having someone you love leave this earth before you've spent your planned rest of your days together is heartbreaking. Especially more so when it involved children. I am pleased to call Her and her Family my friends.
